Shortlist for New City Bridge
Dublin City Council has announced the final five proposed names for the new bridge over the River Liffey near Marlborough Street. The Council’s Commemorative Naming Committee at its meeting today 10th July had reduced the previous shortlist of 10 names to 5. The five nominations will be put before a full meeting of the Elected Members of Dublin City Council in the autumn for final a decision on the naming of the bridge.
The bridge will carry the new LUAS Cross City Line and other public transport linking Marlborough Street on the north side of the Liffey to Hawkins Street on the south side and is expected to be complete early next year.
Dublin City Council wish to thank the public for their overwhelming response to this process.
