Dollymount Beach – Precautionary Bathing Water Notice

Cllr. Heney wishes to advise constituents that a bathing water notice has been placed at Dollymount beach following a power outage at the Spencer Dock Pumping Station. The power outage resulted in wastewater building up and overflowing at the East Road surface water Pumping Station, which was fully operational at the time. The Spencer Dock Pumping Station is now fully operational again but as a precaution, the potentially affected beaches at Dollymount Sandymount and Merrion have had advisory bathing water notices placed on them by Dublin City Council. These will remain in place while Irish Water awaits water sampling results that will be available this Friday. It is hoped at this point that the notices can be lifted.
